TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990

THE SECRETARY OF STATE hereby gives notice that she proposes to make an Order under Section 247 of the above Act to authorise the stopping up of a generally triangular shaped area of the cul-de-sac end of the unnamed highway which leads off Stanhope Road to the rear of the Flats 1 to 18 Otterden Close, Stanhope, Ashford, Kent.

IF THE ORDER IS MADE, the stopping up will be authorised only in order to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted to Gleeson Homes Southern (part of Chrysalis) by Ashford Borough Council on 3 September 2007 under [Application No.] reference /07/00134/AS.

COPIES OF THE DRAFT ORDER AND RELEVANT PLAN MAY BE INSPECTED at all reasonable hours during 28 days commencing on 29 May 2008 at Meet and Greet, Ashford Borough Council, Civic Centre, Tannery Lane, Ashford, Kent TN23 1PL and may be obtained free of charge from the Secretary of State at the offices of the Department for Transport (quoting reference NATTRAN/SE/S247/06) at the address stated below.

ANY PERSON MAY OBJECT to the making of the proposed order within the period of 28 days commencing on 29 May 2008 by notice to the Secretary of State, quoting the above reference, addressed to National Transport Casework Team, Government Office for the North East, Citygate, Gallowgate, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 4WH.

In preparing an objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of it may be imparted to other persons who may be affected by it and that those persons may wish to communicate with the objector about it.

Planning permission is granted for demolition of one no. five storey block of flats and redevelopment of site to provide 30 residential houses and flats, none of which are higher than three storeys, associated parking, landscaping, roads and footpaths etc, at Site 4 Flats 1 to 36 Otterburn Close, Stanhope Estate Development, Stanhope Road, Stanhope, Ashford, Kent.
