THE GREENWICH (PARKING PLACES) (NO 2) (AMENDMENT NO 13) EXPERIMENTAL ORDER 2007
THE GREENWICH (RESIDENTS AND BUSINESS PARKING PLACES NO 2) (AMENDMENT NO 18) EXPERIMENTAL ORDER 2007

1. Notice is hereby given that Greenwich Council, hereinafter called the Council, on 10 January 2007, made the above-mentioned Orders under sections 9 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
2. The general effect of the Orders will be to review the existing parking place arrangements in King William Walk.
3. The further effects of the Orders will be to:

(a) designate parking meter parking places operative between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive and between 9.00 am and 6.00 pm on Sundays on the lengths of street specified in Schedule 1 to this notice, where vehicles may be left for a maximum period of 4 hours;
(b) redefine the existing residents and business parking place in King William Walk as specified in Schedule 2 to this notice.

4. Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 17 January 2007 of the Orders being amended, of the Council’s statement of reasons for making the Orders, together with plans showing the locations and effects of the Orders, can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, at Greenwich Transportation and Highways, Greenwich Council, Peggy Middleton House, 50 Woolwich New Road, Woolwich, London SE18 6HQ, and copies of the Orders may be obtained from that address.
5. The Orders provide that in pursuance of section 10(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Assistant Director of Transportation and Highways for the time being, or some person authorised in that behalf by him, may, if it appears to him or that person essential in the interests of the expeditious, convenient and safe movement of traffic or for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which any road affected by the Orders extend, modify or suspend the Orders or any provision thereof.
6. In due course the Council will consider whether or not the provisions of the Orders should be continued in force indefinitely. Within the period of 6 months from the coming into force of the Orders, or if the Orders are subsequently varied by another Order or Orders or modified pursuant to section 10(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, from the coming into force of that variation or modification (whichever is the latest), any person may object to the making of the Orders to continue indefinitely those provisions by means of Orders under section 6, 45, 46 and 49 of the said Act of 1984, by sending a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Assistant Director of Transportation and Highways at the address shown in paragraph 4 above.
Schedule 1
King William Walk, the north-east side, from a point 9.5 metres north-west of a point opposite the north-western wall of No 10 Nevada Street extending north-westward for a distance of 36 metres.
King William Walk, the south-west side, from a point 14 metres south-east of the south-eastern kerbline of Nelson Road extending south-westward for a distance of 24 metres.
Schedule 2
King William Walk, the south-west side, from a point 38 metres south-east of the south-eastern kerbline of Nelson Road to a point 12.5 metres south-east of a point opposite the south-eastern wall of No 2 King William Walk.
