PLANNING (LISTED BUILDINGS AND CONSERVATION AREAS) ACT 1990
ADELAIDE STREET CONSERVATION AREA
Notice is hereby given that Plymouth City Council as the Local Planning Authority
under the provisions of section 69 of the Planning (Listed Buildings & Conservation
Areas) Act 1990, has reviewed and amended the boundary of the Adelaide Street/Clarence
Place Conservation Area designated on 5 July 1999. The revised Conservation Area was
formally designated at the meeting of the Planning Committee of Plymouth City Council
on 19 October 2006, as an area of special architectural or historic interest, the
character or appearance of which it is desirable to preserve or enhance.
The boundary of the designated area is outlined below. Detailed plans can be obtained
from “First Stop”, The Civic Centre, Royal Parade, Plymouth PL1 2EW, or from the Plymouth
City Council website.
The Conservation Area is bounded by the lines of Clarence Place, Manor Street, Adelaide
Lane, Battery Street, Union Place and Adelaide Place back to Clarence Place.
