NEWPORT UNITARY DEVELOPMENT PLAN 1996-2011

On 16 May 2006 Newport City Council adopted these plan proposals with modifications. The adopted proposals will form the development plan for Newport City Council. The development plan forms the basis for decisions on land use planning affecting that area. Copies of the adopted proposals are available for inspection at the Civic Centre (Reception 2), Newport, between 8.30 am and 5.00 pm Monday to Thursday, and 8.30 am and 4.30 pm on Friday, and at all public libraries in the County Borough during their normal opening hours. The proposals came into operation on their adoption. A person aggrieved by the proposals who desires to question their validity on the ground that they are not within the powers conferred by Part II of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, or that any requirement of that Act or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the adoption of the proposals, may, within six weeks from 22 May 2006, make an application to the High Court under section 287 of the 1990 Act.
