PUBLIC NOTIFICATION OF AN APPLICATION MADE UNDER REGULATION 10 OF THE POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL (ENGLAND AND WALES) REGULATIONS 2000

INTEGRATED POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL

Notice is hereby given that Glaxo Operations UK Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for an Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) permit to operate an installation involving the production of a pharmaceutical product using a chemical process under Schedule 1, section 4.5 part A of the IPPC Regulation. The installation is located at Priory Street, Ware SG12 9DJ, in the district of East Hertfordshire in the county of Hertfordshire. The application contains a description of any foreseeable significant effects of emissions from the installation on the environment. Information relating to the above IPPC application for a permit to operate the preparation of salbutamol sulphate process is held in registers at the following locations: The Environment Agency, Apollo Court, 2 Bishops Square Business Park, St Albans Road West, Hatfield, Hertfordshire AL10 8BD; and IPPC Public Register, c/o Nick Egerton, Environmental Health Officer, East Hertfordshire District Council, The Causeway, Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire CM23 2EN. Members of the public can inspect these registers, free of charge, at the above-stated addresses during normal office hours. In addition, members of the public who wish to obtain a copy of the relevant information contained in the registers can do so upon the payment of a reasonable charge to cover the costs of copying. Any objections or representations to the above IPPC application should be made in writing to the Environment Agency at the address below, within 28 days from the date of this public notice: The Environment Agency, Bedford SPG, Howard House, 40-64 St John Street, Bedford MK42 0DL. Any such objections or representations will be entered into a public register unless the person making them requests in writing that they should not be so placed. If there is such a request, the register will only include a statement that there has been a request.
