WATER RESOURCES ACT 1991, SCHEDULE 10 (AS AMENDED BY THE ENVIRONMENT ACT 1995)
NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR CONSENT FOR THE PURPOSES OF SECTION 88

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Schedule 10 of the above Act, that an application has been made to the Environment Agency by Partnership in Care Ltd., Kneesworth House, Kneesworth, Royston, Hertfordshire, for consent to discharge up to 64 cubic metres per day of highly treated sewage effluent from a new sewage treatment plant (STP) serving The Dene (Hospital), Gatehouse Lane, Goddards Green, Burgess Hill BN6 9EL, to an adjacent ditch (tributary of the Pookbourne Stream), at National Grid Ref TQ 2928 1979. This new STP will replace the site’s existing but now undersized sewage treatment facility which has, since September 2000, been consented to discharge up to 16 cubic metres per day of treated sewage effluent into the same watercourse via the same outlet. Should this application be granted the consent for the existing sewage treatment facility will be revoked. The Environment Agency is committed to maintaining and, where possible, improving water quality. If, after full consideration of this application and any representations made by interested parties, it is decided that consent can be given, then conditions will be imposed to ensure that these aims of the Agency regarding water quality are met. A copy of the application may be inspected, free of charge, during normal office hours at the Agency’s offices at the address given below. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Supra Area Water Quality Consenting Team at the Agency’s offices at Saxon House, Little High Street, Worthing, West Sussex BN11 2BP, during the period 20 October 2005 to 1 December 2005, quoting Ref P.12569/S/05.
