THE BRENT (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (AMENDMENT NO 206) ORDER 2005
NORTHWICK PARK GOLF CENTRE
1. Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Brent on 10 October 2005 made the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by section 8 of and Part 1 of Schedule 5 to the Local Government Act 1985. 2. The general effect of the “Prescribed Routes” Order will be to: (a) compel the left turn into Watford Road from the access road to the Northwick Park Golf Centre; (b) prohibit vehicular traffic proceeding north-westward or south-eastward in Watford Road from making a U-turn at either end of the median strip which lies opposite the access road to Northwick Park Golf Centre, Watford Road. 3. The general effect of “Waiting and Loading Restrictions” (Amendment) Order will be further to amend the Brent (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1979, so that: (a) waiting by vehicles (otherwise than for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle) will be prohibited at any time in the lengths of street specified in the Schedule to this notice; (b) waiting by vehicles for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle for a period of more than 20 minutes in the same place will be prohibited between 11.00 am and 6.30 pm throughout the week in the lengths of street specified in the Schedule to this Notice; (c) the sale or offer for sale of goods from a vehicle will be prohibited (except on Sundays in the length of street specified in the Schedule) unless there is in force a valid licence issued by the Brent Borough Council or the goods are immediately taken into or delivered at premises adjacent to the vehicle from which the sale is effected; (d) the use of any vehicle or of any animal or the wearing of fancy dress or other costume, wholly or mainly for the purpose of advertising will be prohibited. 4. The prohibitions referred to in sub-paragraph 3(a) and (b) above will not apply in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or in certain circumstances, eg, the picking up or setting down of passengers; the carrying out of statutory powers or duties; the taking in of petrol, etc, from roadside petrol stations; to licensed street traders, etc. The usual exemption relating to vehicles displaying a disabled person’s “Blue/Orange Badge” would apply. 5. A copy of each of the Orders, which will come into operation on 24 October 2005, of the map of the relevant area, of the above-mentioned Order of 1979 (and of the Orders which have amended that Order) can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders were made at: (a) The One Stop Shop, Brent Town Hall, Forty Lane, Wembley, Middlesex HA9 9HX; and (b) The One Stop Shop, Brent House, 349-357 High Road, Wembley, Middlesex HA9 6BZ. 6. Copies of the Orders may be purchased from the address mentioned in paragraph 5(b) above. Any person desiring to question the validity of either of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to either of the Orders may, within 6 weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
