ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE A3 GLA ROAD (LAMBETH) (BUS PRIORITY) TRAFFIC ORDER 2001 VARIATION ORDER 2004
1. Transport for London hereby gives notice that it has made the above-named Order under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. 2. The A3 GLA Road (Lambeth) (Bus Priority) Traffic Order 2001 Experimental Variation Order 2002 (“the experimental Order”) was made under section 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and came into force on 15 November 2002. 3. Transport for London has carefully considered whether or not the provisions of the experimental Order should be continued indefinitely and has decided that they should be so continued. 4. Therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred on Local Authorities by section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and in accordance with regulation 23 of the Local Authorities’ Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996, Transport for London has made The A3 GLA Road (Lambeth) (Bus Priority) Traffic Order 2001 Variation Order 2004 (“the permanent Order”). That Order will come into force on 15 May 2004, and the effect of that Order will be to continue in force indefinitely the provisions of the experimental Order. 5. The road affected by the permanent Order is the A3 Kennington Park Road in the London Borough of Lambeth. 6. A copy of the permanent Order, a map indicating the location and effect of the Order and a copy of the experimental Order can be inspected, during normal office hours, at the offices of: Transport for London, Street Management, Statutory Functions, Traffic Orders, 84 Eccleston Square, London SW1V 1PX; and Lambeth Borough Council, Transport and Highways Group, 3rd Floor, Blue Star House, 234-244 Stockwell Road, London SW9 9SP. 7. Any person wishing to question the validity of the permanent Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that they are not within the relevant powers conferred by the Act, or that any requirement of the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which that Order is made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
