NOTICE OF DEPOSIT OF PROPOSALS FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE KNOWSLEY UNITARY DEVELOPMENT PLAN

Knowsley Council has prepared proposals for the replacement of the above plan. If, and when, the replacement plan is adopted it will form the development plan for the area of Knowsley. The development plan forms the basis for decisions on land use planning affecting that area. Copies of the proposals, together with the Council’s statement of pre-deposit consultation, are available for public inspection, free of charge, at the following Council Offices on Mondays to Fridays between the hours of 9.00 am to 5.00 pm: Huyton One Stop Shop, Council Offices, Municipal Buildings, Huyton; Halewood One Stop Shop, Council Offices, Leathers Lane, Halewood; Prescot One Stop Shop, Council Offices, Prescot Centre, Prescot; and Kirkby One Stop Shop, Council Offices, Cherryfield Drive, Kirkby. The proposals can also be viewed at the following libraries (during normal days and hours of opening for each library): Halewood Library, Leathers Lane, Halewood; Huyton Library, Civic Way, Huyton; Whiston Library, Dragon Lane, Whiston; Kirkby Library, Newtown Gardens, Kirkby; Stockbridge Village Library, The Withens, Stockbridge Village; Prescot Library, High Street, Prescot; and Page Moss Library, Stockbridge Lane, Huyton. Objections to, and representations in respect of, the proposals should be sent in writing before Monday 8 December 2003 to: Unitary Development Plan, (c/o The Strategic Planning Manager), Department of Regeneration and Development, PO Box 26, Huyton L36 9FB. Objections and representations can also be made by using the on line objection form at http://planning.knowsley.gov.uk. Objections and representations should specify the matters to which they relate and the grounds on which they are made. They may also be accompanied by a request to be notified at a specified address of the withdrawal, adoption, approval or rejection of the proposals. Only objectors whose objections are made in writing and arrive at the address specified above within the 6-week period ending on 8 December 2003 will have a right to have their objections considered at a local inquiry or other hearing. Notice of Intention to Adopt Proposals If no objections to the plan proposals are received during the period given for making objections, the Council intends to adopt the proposals on the expiry of that period.
