PROPOSED WORKS ON COMMON LAND KNOWN AS CALDBECK AND ULDALE COMMONS, CALDBECK AND IREBY, ALLERDALE, CUMBRIA
Notice is hereby given that an Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs will attend at The Oak Room, Caldbeck Village Hall, Caldbeck, Cumbria, on Wednesday 15 January 2003, to hold a public local inquiry into an application by the Lake District National Park Authority for consent under section 194 of the Law of Property Act 1925, to the proposed erection of 8 kilometres or thereabouts of temporary fencing, the construction of six access gates and a minimum of eight stiles for a period of five years on the boundary between Caldbeck and Uldale Commons which are registered as common land CL20 and CL46. The inquiry will begin at 10.00 am on Wednesday 15 January 2003, and an evening session will be held at the above-mentioned venue at 7.00 pm on Thursday 16 January 2003. It is desirable that all persons interested should attend the public inquiry. Any person desirous of being heard on the subject matter of the application, whether considered in relation to the benefit of the neighbourhood or to private interests, may, at the discretion of the Inspector, give evidence at the inquiry or may arrange for someone to do so on his or her behalf on the date mentioned above. Copies of: (i) the application by the Lake District National Park Authority; (ii) the applicant’s statement in support of the application; (iii) a plan showing the common land affected and details of the proposals; and (iv) representations received in response to the application will be available for inspection at The Post Office, Caldbeck, during normal opening hours and the Blencathra Centre, Threlkeld, between the hours of 10.00 am and 4.00 pm from Monday to Friday (Public Holidays excepted), during the 5 weeks preceding the public inquiry.
