NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO VARY LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER
Notice is hereby given that an application is being made to the Environment Agency,
Southern Region, by Thames Water Utilities Ltd, Clearwater Court, Vastern Road, Reading,
Berkshire RG1 8DB, to vary a licence (licence number 9/40/1/126) to abstract water
from underground strata (chalk), at Wansunt, South London, National Grid Reference
TQ 504 743.
The variation applied for is to renew the variation which expires on 24 February
2003. The current licence levels are 4,977,974 cubic metres per year and 15,000 cubic
metres per day, and the daily limit reverts to 14,547 cubic metres per day from 24
Febraury 2003. The application is to renew the variation in order to retain the daily
quantity of 15,000 cubic metres per day from 25 February 2003. The water will be used
for public water supply in London.
A copy of the application and any map, plans or other document submitted with it
may be inspected, free of charge, at Bexleyheath Central Library, Townley Road, Bexleyheath,
Kent DA6 7HJ, at all reasonable hours during the period beginning on Friday 8 November
2002 and ending on Monday 9 December 2002.
Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so
in writing to the Kent Area Manager, Environment Agency—Southern Region, Orchard House,
Endeavour Park, London Road, Addington, West Malling, Kent ME19 5SH, before the end
of the said period.
