HIGHWAYS ACT 1980, SECTION 116
STOPPING-UP OF PUBLIC HIGHWAYS
Notice is hereby given that an application will be made at the City Magistrates’ Court,
Dale Street, Liverpool at 1.45 pm on Thursday 25 October 2001, for Orders under section
116 of the above Act, for the stopping-up of:
1. Part of Cornhill, Liverpool 1; Area of highway bounded by Cornhill, Hurst Street,
Tabley Street and Wapping including a public footpath linking Hurst Street and Tabley
Street, Liverpool 1;
2. Footpath and area of highway leading from South Cantril Avenue fronting the properties
numbered 33-43 (odd) South Cantril Avenue, Liverpool 12;
3. Part of Canova Close (formerly Tothale Turn), Liverpool 27;
4. Part of a passageway leading from Lampeter Road, Liverpool 6;
5. Part of Totland Close (formerly Tothale Turn), Liverpool 27;
6. Footpath leading from Acanthus Road, Liverpool 13;
7. Passageway leading from Peel Street, Liverpool 8; Part of a passageway leading
from Leonora Street, Liverpool 8;
8. Parts of Damson Road, Liverpool 27;
9. Area of highway adjoining Christian Street, Liverpool 3;
10. Ternhall Way, Liverpool 9; Access roads, footpaths and parking areas leading
from Ternhall Way and Eaglehall Road, Liverpool 9;
11 Bradshaw Place, Liverpool 6 and passageway leading therefrom; Passageways leading
from Phythian Street, Liverpool 6;
12. Footpaths and areas of highway adjoining and leading from Mill Street, Harlow
Street, Haylock Close and Shelmore Drive, Liverpool 8;
13. Part of Herm Road (formerly known as Ashfield Street), Liverpool 5; Area of highway
adjoining Herm Road, Liverpool 5;
14. Parts of the footway of Thirlmere Road, Liverpool 5;
15. Passageways leading from Clough Road adjacent and to the rear of the properties
numbered 44 a -62 a Clough Road, Liverpool 24;
16. Footpaths and raised areas of highway leading from Childwall Valley Road to Belle
Vale Shopping Centre, Liverpool 16;
17. Area of highway adjoining Christian Street and within the boundaries of the properties
numbered 50, 52 and 54 Christian Street and 1 St Josephs Crescent, Liverpool 3;
18. Arkwright Street, Liverpool 5;
19. Part of an un-named access road leading from Brookside Avenue, Liverpool 14 and
including access roads, footpaths and parking areas adjoining Ashfield House; Access
roads, footpaths and parking areas leading from Brookside Avenue adjoining Ashfield
House, Liverpool 14;
20. Part of the footways of Tunnel Road and Harbord Street, Liverpool 7; and
21. Footpath leading from Speke Road to Kingsmead Drive, Liverpool 25.
Plans showing the effect of the proposed Orders may be inspected, without payment,
between the hours of 8.45 am and 4.00 pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at the City
Solicitors Office, (Room 128), Municipal Buildings, Dale Street, Liverpool.
On hearing of the application any statutory undertaker having apparatus under, in,
upon, over, along or across the highways, the owners and occupiers of lands adjoining
the highways, any person who uses the highways and any other person who would be aggrieved
by the making of the Orders shall have the right to be heard.
