WATER RESOURCES ACT 1991: SCHEDULE 10 (AS AMENDED BY THE ENVIRONMENT ACT 1995)

NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR CONSENT FOR THE PURPOSES OF SECTION 88

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Schedule 10 of the Water Resources Act 1991 (as amended by the Environment Act 1995) that an application has been made to the Environment Agency by Northumbrian Water Limited, Abbey Road, Pity Me, Durham DH1 5FJ, for consent to discharge 14,000 cubic metres per day of trade effluent containing fish rearing tank effluent from Lartington Water Treatment Works, Lartington, Barnard Castle into Scur Beck at National Grid Ref NZ 0132 1790.
Any person who wishes to make representations or objections with respect to the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Coverdale House, Aviator Court, Clifton Moor, York YO30 4GZ, for the attention of Mr P A Stevenson, quoting Ref 25/02/1084, not later than 2 November 2001.
A copy of the application may be inspected, free of charge, at the local Environment Agency office at Teesdale House, Lingfield Way, Yarm Road Industrial Estate, Darlington DL1 4GQ, on weekdays between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm up to 2 November 2001.
The Environment Agency is committed to maintaining and, where possible, improving water quality. If, after full consideration of this application and any representations made by interested parties, it is decided that consent can be given, then conditions will be imposed to ensure that the effluent receives treatment before discharge to the receiving waters so that the above aims are met.
