NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that Mabey and Johnson Ltd, of Floral Mile, Twyford, Reading, Berkshire RG10 9SQ, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from underground chalk strata (chalk) at National Grid Ref SU 7987 7802, at Floral Mile, Twyford, Reading, Berkshire. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 20,230 cubic metres per year (between 1 January and 31 December each year). The water will be used for spray irrigation. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Mabey and Johnson Ltd, Floral Mile, Twyford, Reading, Berkshire RG10 9SQ, between 11 September 2001 and 11 October 2001. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Water Resources Officer—South East Area, Swift House, Frimley Business Park, Frimley, Camberley, Surrey GU16 5SQ, before the end of the said period, quoting the name of the applicant.
