STOPPING UP OF LENGTH OF BROADWAY AND PLECK ROAD, ACCRINGTON, LANCASHIRE

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, gives notice that on the application of Helical Retail Limited, he has made an Order under section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping Up of Highways (County of Lancashire (No 2) Order 2001”, authorising the stopping-up of a length of Broadway and Pleck Road, Accrington, Lancashire. This stopping-up Order has been authorised only in Order to enable the development to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted to Helical Retail Ltd, by Hyndburn Borough Council on 25 May 2001, under Ref 11/00/0314. Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, on application to the Government Office for the North West (Transport), Sunley Tower, Piccadilly Plaza, Manchester M1 4BE (quoting Ref GO/TNW 5063/35/1/76). It may also be inspected at all reasonable hours at the offices of Hyndburn Borough Council, Eagle Street, Accrington. Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the power of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any Regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of the 13 August 2001, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision contained therein.
