ADVENT WAY AND BRIDPORT ROAD—WAITING RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Enfield propose to make the Enfield (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Special Parking Area) (Amendment No.  ) Order 200  under sections 6 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Road Traffic Act 1991. 2. The general effect of the Order would be further to amend the Enfield (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Special Parking Area) Order 1994, so that: (a) the existing restrictions on waiting by vehicles, on the sale of goods and on advertising activities in the length of street specified in Schedule 1 to this notice imposed by the above-mentioned Order of 1994 would be revoked; (b) waiting by vehicles (otherwise than for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle) would be prohibited: (i) between 8 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive in the length of street specified in Schedule 2 to this notice; (ii) between 7 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive in the lengths of street specified in Schedule 3 to this notice; (c) waiting by vehicles for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle for a period of more than 20 minutes in the same place would be prohibited in the lengths of streets referred to in sub-paragraph (b) above; (d) the sale or offer for sale of goods from a vehicle in the lengths of streets referred to in sub-paragraph (b) above would be prohibited, except on a Sunday, unless there is in force a valid licence issued by the Enfield Borough Council or the goods are immediately taken into or delivered at premises adjacent to the vehicle from which the sale is effected; (e) the use of any vehicle or of any animal or the wearing of fancy dress or other costume, wholly or mainly for the purpose of advertising in the lengths of streets referred to in sub-paragraph (b) above, would be prohibited. 3. The prohibitions referred to in paragraph 2(b) and (c) above would not apply in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or in certain circumstances, e.g., the picking up or setting down of passengers; the carrying out of statutory powers or duties; the taking in of petrol, etc., from roadside petrol stations; to licensed street traders, etc. The usual exemption relating to vehicles displaying a disabled person’s badge would apply. 4. A copy of the proposed Order, of maps indicating the location and effect of the proposed Order, of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order and of the Enfield (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Special Parking Area) Order 1994 (and of the Orders which have previously amended that Order) can be inspected at the Reception Desk, ‘B’ Block, the Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield, Middlesex EN1 3XD, during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive. 5. Persons desiring to object to the proposed Order or make any other representations, should send a statement in writing to that effect, and in the case of an objection stating the grounds thereof, to the Head of Traffic and Parking Services, the Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield, Middlesex EN1 3XD, quoting Ref. KWG/TG52/743, by 2nd February 2001. 6. Under the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, many of the reports made to a Committee of the Council are open to the press and to the public. When this happens any documents used to a material extent in compiling the report are also open to inspection. This means that any letter you write to the Council in response to this notice may be available to the press and to the public, who would be entitled to take copies of it if they wish. I. Schedule 1 Removal of waiting restrictions Bridport Road, the north side, between a point 48 metres east of the eastern kerb-line of Bull Lane and a point 80 metres east of that kerb-line. Schedule 2 No waiting—8 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive Bridport Road, the south side, between a point 45 metres east of the eastern kerb-line of Bull Lane and a point 84 metres east of that kerb-line. Schedule 3 No waiting—7 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive Advent Way, between its junction with Angel Road (North Circular Road) slip road and a point 38 metres north-east of the north-eastern kerb-line of Ely Road. 12th January 2001.
