PROPOSED INTRODUCTION OF MOTORCYCLE PARKING PLACES IN BEDFORD PARK, BEECH HOUSE ROAD, CHURCH STREET, EDRIDGE ROAD, FRIENDS ROAD, MASON’S AVENUE, OAKLEY ROAD, OVAL ROAD AND WALPOLE ROAD

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Croydon propose to make the Croydon (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Amendment No. B48) Order 2000 under sections 6 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985. The general effect of the Order would be to further amend the Croydon (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 2000 to introduce motor cycle parking areas as specified in the Schedule to this notice. A copy of the proposed Order, of the Croydon (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 2000 (and of the Orders which have amended that Order), of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order, and of a map which indicates the length of road to which the proposed restriction relates can be inspected, until the last day of a period of 6 weeks beginning with the date on which the Order is made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Order, during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, at the Enquiry Counter, “One Stop” Facility, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon, Surrey. Persons desiring to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Order Making Section, Public Services and Works Department, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon CR9 3RN, quoting Ref. T&P/PS/JGW/7/B48, by 29th December 2000. The Councillors for these Wards are Amanda Campbell, Jerry Fitzpatrick, Sean Fitzsimons, Bob Coatman, Pat Knight, Michael Wunn, Karen Jewitt and Lousia Woodley. The proposed Order is intended to introduce motor cycle parking places in Bedford Park, Beech House Road, Church Street, Edridge Road, Friends Road, Mason’s Avenue, Oakley Road, Oval Road and Walpole Road which should benefit motor cyclists who may live, work or visit the Croydon area following requests received from residents and motor cyclists. Ollier, Director of Public Services and Works Schedule Bedford Park all that part of the south-east side which is bounded on the south-east by so much of the edge of the carriageway of that highway as extends from a point 2.20 metres north-east of the common boundary of Nos. 4 and 6 Bedford Park north-eastward for a distance of 7 metres and which has a width throughout of 1.40 metres. Beech House Road all that part of the north side which is bounded on the north by so much of the edge of the carriageway of that highway as extends from a point 2 metres west of the common boundary of Keys Court and No. 13 Beech House Road westward for a distance of 8 metres and which has a width throughout of 1.40 metres. Church Street all that part of the south-east side which is bounded on the south-east by so much of the edge of the carriageway of that highway as extends from a point 0.3 metre south-west of the south-western flank wall of Nos. 1 to 4 Ramsey Court, Church Street north-eastward for a distance of 10 metres and which has width throughout of 1.40 metres. Edridge Road all that part of the south-west side which is bounded on the south-west by so much of the edge of the cariageway of that highway as extends from a point opposite the south-easternmost flank wall of No. 3 Edridge Road, south-eastwards for a distance of 10 metres and which has a width throughout of 1.40 metres. Friends Road all that part of the south side which is bounded on the south by so much of the edge of the carriageway of that highway as extends from a point 10 metres west of its junction with Chatsworth Road westward for a distance of 10 metres and which has a width throughout of 1.40 metres. Mason’s Avenue all that part of the south-east side which bounded on the south-east by so much of the edge of the carriageway of that highway as extends from a point 28.40 metres south-west of its junction with Edridge Road south-westward for a distance of 10 metres and which has a width throughout of 1.40 metres. Oakley Road all that part of the north-west side which is bounded on the north-west by so much of the edge of the carriageway of that highway as extends from a point 13 metres north-east of its junction with Portland Road north-eastward for a distance of 10 metres and which has a width throughout of 1.40 metres. Oval Road all that part of the north-east side which is bounded on the north-east by so much of the edge of the carriageway of that highway as extends from a point 9 metres north-west of the north-western flank wall of No. 50 Oval Road north-westward for a distance of 7 metres and which has a width throughout of 1.40 metres. Walpole Road all that part of the south-west side which is bounded on the south-west by so much of the edge of the carriageway of that highway as extends from a point 3.20 metres south-east of the north-westernmost flank wall of Southern House north-westward for a distance of 10 metres and which has a width throughout of 1.40 metres. 6th December 2000.
