NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR CONSENT FOR THE PURPOSES OF SECTION 88

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Schedule 10 to the Water Resources Act 1991, that an application has been made to the Environment Agency by Mr. and Mrs. K. Sturgess for consent to discharge 2 cubic metres per day of treated sewage effluent from Queens Lace and a new residential dwelling at Heather Lane, Up Nately, Hook, Hampshire RG27 9PT into the Basingstoke Canal at National Grid Reference SU 6998 5224. Details of the proposal are contained in the register held by the Agency at its office in Reading. The register is held at Kings Meadow House, Kings Meadow Road, Reading, Berkshire, and may be inspected, free of charge, from 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. Monday to Friday inclusive. Inquiries by telephone (direct line 0118 953 5426) may be made between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday to Friday inclusive. Any person who wishes to make representations or objections with respect to the application should do so, in writing, to the Water Quality Consenting Officer, Environment Agency, Swift House, Frimley Business Park, Camberley, Surrey GU16 5SQ, quoting application number S/WR 299. The Environment Agency is committed to maintaining and, where possible, improving water quality. If, after full consideration of this application and any representations made by interested parties, it is decided that consent can be given, then conditions will be imposed to ensure that the effluent receives treatment before discharge to the receiving waters so that the above aims are met.
