NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that Bowen Water Systems, Ponderosa Yard, Kirkby Malzeard, Ripon HG4 3SD, on behalf of Mr. J. E. Townley, Nutta Farm, Clapham, Lancashire, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from a borehole in the Millstone Grit at National Grid Reference SD 7301 6811 at Nutta Farm, Clapham in the Civil Parish of Clapham cum Newby, Craven District of North Yorkshire. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 2 cubic metres per hour, 19.4 cubic metres per day, 7,081 cubic metres between 1st January and 31st December each year. The water will be used for agricultural purposes. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Nutta Farm, Clapham, Lancashire, between 16th June 2000 and 16th July 2000. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Lutra House, Dodd Way, Off Seedlee Road, Walton Summit, Bamber Bridge, Preston, Lancashire PR5 8BX, before the end of the said period.
