NORTH WOOLWICH ROAD
Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Newham propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Road Traffic Act 1991. The general effect of the Bus Lane Order would be to introduce a bus lane in North Woolwich Road, the north-west side, between the south-western kerb-line of the unnamed access road leading to Thames Barrier Park and a point 20 metres north-east of that kerb-line. The bus lane would operate at all times. Its use would be restricted to buses, cycles, taxis and certain other vehicles in specified circumstances. The general effect of the Prescribed Routes Order would be to introduce Prescribed and banned movements at the junction of North Woolwich Road and the unnamed access road leading to Thames Barrier park. The general effect of the Waiting and Loading Restriction Order would be to introduce restrictions on waiting by vehicles at any time in: (A) North Woolwich Road (i) The north-west side: between a point 117 metres south-west of the south-western kerb-line of the unnamed road leading to Thames Barrier Park access road and a point 261 metres north-east of this kerb-line. (ii) The south-east side: (a) between a point opposite the south-western side of the island site situated at the junction of North Woolwich Road with the unnamed access road leading to Thames Barrier Park access road north-eastwards for a distance of 255 metres. (b) from the south-west kerb-line of the unnamed access road leading to Thames Barrier Park access road south-eastwards for 121 metres. (B) The unnamed access road leading to Thames Barrier Park access road for the entire length of the adopted highway on both sides of the road. Copies of the proposed Orders and documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders can be inspected until six weeks from the date on which the Orders are made or until the proposals are withdrawn, whichever is appropriate, during normal office hours on Monday to Friday inclusive at the offices of the Director of Environment, 25 Nelson Street, East Ham, London E6 6EH. All objections and other representations relating to the proposed Orders must be made in writing to the Director of Environment at the address shown above quoting references E/TO/PMU/NB by 5th November 1999. All objections must specify the grounds on which they are made. Persons objecting to the proposed Orders should be aware that in view of the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, this Council may be legally obliged to make any comments in response to this notice open to public inspection.
