EXTENSION OF KENNINGTON CONTROLLED PARKING ZONE

THE LAMBETH (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (SPECIAL PARKING AREA) (AMENDMENT NO. 27) ORDER 1999
Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Lambeth, on 6th September 1999, made the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. The general nature and effect of the Orders will be: (a) to extend the Kennington Controlled Parking Zone to include Meadow Place; (b) that waiting by vehicles, other than for the purpose of waiting for the purposes of loading or unloading a vehicle, or for delivering or collecting goods will be prohibited in Meadow Place between 8.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays inclusive; (c) to introduce a parking place for residents’ permit holders, residents’ visitors permit holders and trade permit holders, in Meadow Place. The parking place will operate between 8.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays inclusive. The cost of residents’ permits for eligible vehicles other than motor cycles will be £9.50, £18.75, (£32.50 or £60 for a permit valid for one month, 3 months, 6 months or one year respectively and for motor cycles, £11, £17 and £29 for 3 months, 6 months and 12 months respectively. Residents’ visitors permits cost £2.50 per day and trade permits either £12.50 per day for up to 4 permits purchased at any one time or £10 per day for 5 or more permits purchased at any one time; (d) to introduce “shared-use” parking places in Meadow Place. The parking places will be available for use by residents’ permit holders, residents’ visitors permit holders, trade permit holders, business permit holders, teacher permit holders, or for 4 hour maximum pay and display parking. The cost of business users and teachers permits is £255. The cost of the pay and display parking is at the rate of £1.50 per hour; (e) to introduce a solo motor cycle parking areas in Meadow Place. A copy of the Orders and of documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection between 9.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays at the Council’s offices at The Transport Group, 2nd Floor, Directions Building, 1-5 Acre Lane, Brixton, London SW2 5SD, until 18th October 1999. The Orders will come into force on 10th September 1999. Any person desiring to question the validity of either of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to either of the Orders may make application for the purpose to the High Court by 18th October 1999.
