TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990
The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that on the application of the Council he proposes to make an Order under section 249 of the above Act to provide for the extinguishment of any right which persons may have to use vehicles on a length of School Street, Bradford. The proposed Order will contain provisions for permitting the use of that highway where the vehicle is using the highway: 1(a) for police, ambulance or fire brigade purposes; (b) in connection with the laying, erection, inspection, maintenance, alteration, repair, renewal or removal in or near the said length of highway of any sewer, main, pipe, conduit, wire, cable or other apparatus for the supply of gas, water, electricity or of any telecommunication apparatus as defined in Schedule 2 to the Telecommunications Act 1984; (c) on behalf of the highway authority in pursuance of its statutory powers and duties. 2 Where the vehicle is: (a) a pedal cycle. Copies of the draft Order and relevant plan may be inspected at all reasonable hours during 28 days commencing on 18th May 1999, at the offices of the District Transportation and Highways Engineer, Bradford Metropolitan District Council, 1 City Road, Bradford BD8 8ER, and may be obtained, free of charge, from the Government Office for Yorkshire and the Humber (quoting Ref. YHDOT W4705/41/39/5) at the address stated below. Any person may object to the making of the proposed Order within the period of 28 days commencing on 18th May 1999, by notice to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions quoting the above Ref., at the Directorate of Planning, Transport and Environment, Government Office for Yorkshire and the Humber, PO Box 213, City House, New Station Street, Leeds LS1 4US. In preparing an objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of it may be imparted to other persons who may be affected by it and that those persons may wish to communicate with the objector about it.
