Notice of application for a licence to abstract water

Take notice that A. Ogden & Sons Ltd., of Brodsworth House, Brodsworth, Doncaster DN5 7XB, are applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from a borehole in the Coal Measures, at National Grid Reference Point SE 4737 9426, at Silverwood Colliery, in the Parish of Ravenfield, Rotherham, District of South Yorkshire.   The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 80 cubic metres per hour, 1,600 cubic metres per day and 480,000 cubic metres per year. The water will be used for mineral washing and dust suppression.   A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Silverwood Colliery, Colliery, Ravenfield, Rotherham, between 15th October and 19th November 1998.   Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Licensing Section, Phoenix House, Global Avenue, Leeds LS11 8PG, before the end of the said period.
