Notice of application to vary a licence to abstract water

Take notice that the British Waterways Board, of Willow Grange, Church Road, Watford, Hertfordshire WD1 3QA, is applying to the Environment Agency to vary licence serial number 2/27/7/51 which authorises the abstraction of water from the Sheffield and South Yorkshire Navigation between National Grid References SK 507 997 and SK 504 999 at The Earth Centre, Kilner’s Bridge, Doncaster Road, Denaby Main, South Yorkshire.   The variation being applied for is (1) a change in the authorised point of abstraction to National Grid Reference SK 5074 9974, (2) a decrease in the authorised hourly, daily, and annual quantities from 60 cubic metres, 1,440 cubic metres and 500,000 cubic metres respectively to 10 cubic metres, 100 cubic metres, and 10,000 cubic metres respectively, and (3) change the authorised purposes for which the water is to be used from throughflow for reed bed and aquaculture demonstration to spray irrigation and to supply a water feature.   A copy of the application and any map, plans or other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday to Friday at The Earth Centre, Kilner’s Bridge, Doncaster Road, Denaby Main, South Yorkshire DN12 4DY, between 12th February and 12th March 1998.   Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, North East Region, Phoenix House, Global Avenue, Leeds LS11 8PG, before the end of the said period.
