Transfer of General Business
1. Notice is hereby given that AXA Insurance Company Limited (“AXAI”) applied to the
Secretary of State for Trade and Industry on 28th January 1998 for his approval, pursuant
to Part II of Schedule 2C to the Insurance Companies Act 1982, to transfer to AXA
Provincial Insurance plc (“AXAPI”) (formerly UAP Provincial Insurance plc) all of
its rights and obligations under policies written by it in the United Kingdom in the
period between 1st August 1997 and 31st December 1997 inclusive.
2. Copies of the statement of particulars of the proposed transfer are available
for inspection at the offices of AXA Insurance Company Limited, Meridian Gate, Bute
Terrace, Cardiff CF1 2XA, and at the office of Linklaters & Paines, One Silk Street,
London EC2Y 8HQ, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays to Fridays (public holidays excepted),
until 2nd March 1998.
3. Written representations concerning the transfer may be sent to the Secretary
of State, HM Treasury, Insurance Directorate, 1 Victoria Street, London SW1H 0ET,
before 1st April 1998. The Secretary of State will not determine the application until
after considering any representations made to him before that date.
