Notice of Proposals
Notice is hereby given that Arun District Council, in exercise of their powers under section 32, 35(1), (4) and (6)-(9) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 (The Act) and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Act and of all other enabling powers with the consent of the County Council of West Sussex, in accordance with section 39(3) of the Act and after consulting the Chief Officer of Police have made two Orders, the effect of which is to replace and amend the Arun District Council (Off-street Parking Places) Order 1997, the Arun District Council (Off-street Parking Places) (Miscellaneous) Order 1997 and the Arun District Council (Off-street Parking Places) (Amendment) Order 1997. Notice is hereby given that: (1) The Orders will come into operation on 1st April 1998. (2) The original Orders will be revoked and consolidated and replaced by the new Orders subject to minor amendments. (3) A 2 hours disc parking scheme be introduced subject to the purchase of a £20 permit to operate in the St. Martins and Anchor Springs car parks in Littlehampton. (4) The scale of charges shall be amended in relation to Coach Parking, increasing the summer season charges from £1.50 to £3 up to 1 hours stay and from £3.50 to £6 for over 1 hours stay, also winter season charges will be introduced of £2 for up to 1 hours stay and £4 for over 1 hours stay. (5) The Excess Charge of parking offences will be increased to £50 discounted to £25 if paid within 7 days, and (6) The scale of charges for Town Centre parking permits be increased to £200 for an annual 7 day parking permit and £165 for an annual 5 day parking permit.
