Notice of application for a licence to abstract water

Take notice that R. B. and P. J. Martin of Millers Farm, Hilgay, Downham Market PE38 0JL, is applying to the Environment Agency, Anglian Region for a licence to abstract water from the River Wissey at National Grid Reference TL 6360 9862 at Rose Hill Farm and from Southery & District Internal Drainage Board main drains and farm dykes at Broad Corner, both in the parish of Hilgay and from Southery & District Internal Drainage Board main drains and farm dykes at Long Belt in the parish of Methwold, all in the district of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk, in the county of Norfolk.   The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 40 cubic metres per hour, 500 cubic metres per day, and 15,000 cubic metres per year, between 1st April and 30th September each year. The water will be for overhead spray irrigation of arable crops. This is a renewal of licence 6/33/50/56/4, with the addition of some extra land but no changes in quantities.   A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Millers Farm, Hilgay, Downham Market PE38 0JL, between 30th January and 27th February 1998.   Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Anglian Region, Central Area, Bromholme Lane, Brampton, Huntingdon PE18 8NE, before the end of the said period.
