ROADS (SCOTLAND) ACT 1984

DUNDEE CITY COUNCIL (WELLINGTON TOWER/JAMAICA TOWER/CARNEGIE TOWER/MAXWELLTOWN TOWER, MAXWELLTOWN, DUNDEE) (STOPPING-UP OF ROADS, FOOTPATHS AND FOOTWAYS) ORDER 2010

Notice is hereby given that Dundee City Council propose to make an Order under section 68(1) of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 stopping up the lengths of roads, footpaths and footways at Wellington Tower, Jamaica Tower, Carnegie Tower and Maxwelltown Tower, Maxwelltown, Dundee, described in the Schedule hereto.

A copy of the proposed Order and of the accompanying plan showing the length of footpath to be stopped up, together with a statement of the reasons for making the Order will be available for inspection at Dundee City Council Offices, Reception, Floor 4, 21 City Square, Dundee, free of charge during normal office hours from 26 November 2010 to 24 December 2010, both dates inclusive.

Any person may within 28 days from 26 November 2010 object to the making of the Order by notice in writing to the Depute Chief Executive (Support Services), Dundee City Council, 21 City Square, Dundee. Objections should state the name and address of the objector, the matters to which they relate and the grounds on which they are made.

SCHEDULE

AREAS OF ROADS, FOOTPATHS AND FOOTWAYS TO BE STOPPED-UP

Those areas of roads, footpaths and footways known as Wellington Tower/Jamaica Tower/Carnegie Tower/Maxwelltown Tower, Maxwelltown contained within the following boundary and depicted on the attached plan no T-10-08-05 will be stopped up as follows:

1.  From the intersection of the heel line of the south east footway of Alexander Street with the east kerbline of Hilltown at a point marked “A” on the attached plan north eastwards for a distance of 513 metres or thereby following the extended heel lines of the south east footway of Alexander Street to its intersection with the south west edge of the footpath which joins Alexander Street to Hillbank Road at a point marked “B”

2.  From point “B” south eastwards for a distance of 34 metres or thereby following the south west edge of the footpath which joins Alexander Street with Hillbank Road to its intersection with the heel line of the west footway of Hillbank Road at a point marked “C”.

3.  From point “C” southwards and then south westwards for a distance of 565 metres or thereby following the heel line of the west footway of Hillbank Road and then the extended heel line of the north west footway of Ann Street to its intersection with the east kerbline of Hilltown at a point marked “D”.

4.  From point “D” northwards for a distance of 104 metres or thereby following the extended east kerbline of Hilltown to point “A”.
