Notice is hereby given that a Petition was presented to the Court of Session on 14 August 2007 at the instance of British Energy Group plc, a company incorporated under the Companies Acts and having its registered office at Systems House, Alba Campus, Livingston EH54 7EG (the “Company”) for confirmation of a reduction of the Company’s share premium account. On 16 August 2007 Lord Glennie pronounced an interlocutor appointing the Company to give notice of the dependence of the Petition by advertisement once in the Edinburgh Gazette and once in the Scotsman, Financial Times (UK and Europe Editions) and New York Times newspapers and appointing all parties claiming an interest to lodge Answers to the Petition, if so advised, within 42 days of such advertisement. Of which notice is hereby given.

Any party claiming an interest may lodge answers to the Petition at the Office of Court, Court of Session, 2 Parliament Square, Edinburgh EH1 1RQ, Scotland not later than 5 October 2007.
