THE A82 TRUNK ROAD (DRUMNADROCHIT & LEWISTON) (30MPH AND 40MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 200

The Scottish Ministers hereby give notice that they propose to make the above Order under section 84(1)(a) as read with section 124(1)(d) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 which will have the effect of imposing 30mph and 40mph speed limits on the following lengths of road:

30MPH SPEED RESTRICTION

That length of the A82 Dalnottar – Inverness Trunk Road at Drumnadrochit from a point 180 metres or thereby east of the extended east gable of the Visitor Centre, Drumnadrochit Hotel westwards, then southwards, then southwestwards, to a point 55 metres or thereby southeast of the extended centreline of Balmacaan Road, Drumnadrochit, a distance of 1260 metres or thereby.

40MPH SPEED RESTRICTION

That length of the A82 Dalnottar – Inverness Trunk Road at Drumnadrochit from a point 55 metres or thereby southeast of the extended centreline of Balmacaan Road, Drumnadrochit, eastsoutheastwards, then northeastwards to a point 215 metres or thereby northeast of the extended southeast gable of Borlum Bridge Cottage, a distance of 605 metres or thereby.

The A82 Trunk Road (Drumnadrochit South) (30mph and 40mph Speed Limit) Order 2000 and the A82 Trunk Road (Drumnadrochit) (30mph Speed Limit) Order 2000 are revoked by this Order.

Full details of the proposal are contained in the Order which, together with a plan showing the length of road involved, copies of the existing Orders to be revoked and a statement of the Scottish Ministers’ reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be examined free of charge during normal business hours from 21st April 2006 until 19th May 2006 at Transport Scotland, Trunk Roads Network Management Directorate, Victoria Quay, Edinburgh EH6 6QQ; and Drumnadrochit Post Office, Drumnadrochit IV63 6TX.

Any person wishing to object to the proposed Order should send details of the grounds for objection in writing to Transport Scotland, Trunk Roads Network Management Directorate, Victoria Quay, Edinburgh EH6 6QQ by 19th May 2006.
