Notice is also hereby given that Lewis Wind Power Limited (a Company registered in Scotland, Company Number SC225262, and established specifically to develop the Lewis Wind Farm proposal) has applied to the Scottish Ministers for consent to construct and operate a wind farm on the Isle of Lewis in the Western Isles. The installed capacity of the proposed generating station would be 702 MW. This is a re-advertisement to confirm that TWO Addenda to the Environmental Statement are now available.
Lewis Wind Power Limited has also applied for a direction under section 57(2) of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 that planning permission for the development be deemed to be granted.
The first Addendum to the Environmental Statement (LWP 2005a) includes Environmental Impact Assessments relating to Fish and Fauna Interests, as well as additional assessments for Cultural Heritage and Ornithology and a number of Errata identified from within the November 2004 Environmental Statement (ES). Please note that printed copies of the November Environmental Statement (ES, LWP 2004) contained a number of printing omissions, which have now been rectified. CD Rom copies were complete. These Errata were:
— omission of Chapter 16 of Volume 3 of the ES (one page only)
— omission of Appendices 5c, 5d, 5e, 6a, 7a, 10d, 10e, 10f, 10g and 11a, from Volume 6 of the ES.
— Figure 2.11 was bound in the place of Figure 7.11 in Volume 4 of the ES.
The second Addendum to the Environmental Statement (LWP 2005b, Transmission Line)/Section 37 Application includes Environmental Impact Assessments relating to the potential impact of a new 132 kV transmission line on the Isle of Lewis in the Western Isles. The new transmission line would consist of approximately 28.4 km of 132 kV underground line and 32.5 km of 132 kV overhead line in four separate sections. The first would run from Pentland Road in the south of Stornoway up to and along the Barvas Road before splitting into two branches approximately 3 km east of Barvas. The northern branch of the line would consist of two sections of overhead line separated by sections of underground cabling. The overhead lines would run from approximately 1 km south-east of Baile an Truiseil in parallel with the A858 up to a point approximately 2 km south of Galson South and from just north-west of Loch Grasabhat to substation 9 north of Tom Earsail, south of Swainbost. The Western branch of the overhead transmission line would run along the Barvas Moor just south of Loch Spealltrabhat Mor until just to the east of Loch Spealltrabhat, 2.5 km south of Arnol.
