THE ISLINGTON (FREE PARKING PLACES, LOADING PLACES AND WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS) (AMENDMENT NO. *) ORDER 202*
1) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Islington proposes to make the above-mentioned Orders under Sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, and of all other powers thereunto enabling.
2) The general effect of the Orders would be to, on St. Paul’s Place, immediately north of its junction with St. Paul’s Road:
a) on the western side, shorten the existing shared-use parking bay by 4 metres on its southern end; and on the eastern side, shorten the existing resident permit bay by 4.2 metres on its southern end;
b) extend the existing ‘no waiting at any time’ restrictions to replace the removed parking spaces described in 2(a) and adjust to the new kerb layout; and
c) outside No. 1 St. Paul’s Place, replace the existing 1.4-metre-long ‘no waiting Mon-Fri 8.30am-6.30pm Sat 8.30am-1.30pm and match days’ restriction with an extension to the existing adjacent shared-use parking bay.
3) NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Islington, in consultation with the Metropolitan Police and the Department for Transport, and using the powers granted by Section 90C of the Highways Act 1980, propose to introduce the following raised speed tables:
a) on St. Paul’s Place, immediately north of its junction with St. Paul’s Road, 6.5 metres long by 6.5 metres wide by 75 millimetres high, with tapered sides and 4 white arrow markings;
b) at the existing pedestrian crossing outside No. 56 St. Paul’s Road, 9 metres long by 11 metres wide by 75 millimetres high, divided by a central 2.4-metre-wide pedestrian island, with tapered sides and 4 white arrow markings. This speed table will not affect the position of the existing pedestrian crossing nor its ‘no stopping’ restrictions.
4) A copy of the proposed Orders and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection. 5) Any person who wishes to object, or to make other representations about the proposed Orders should send a statement in writing, specifying the grounds on which they are made to Islington Environment, P O Box 2025, PERSHORE, WR10 9BU (quoting reference 8629) or by emailing environment@islington.gov.uk, within the period of twenty-one days from the date on which this Notice is published.
