ROAD TRAFFIC ACTS
THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM (LONDON ROAD, BARKING) (BUS LANE) ORDER 2025
THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTIONS) (LONDON ROAD) AMENDMENT NO. 153 ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham in exercise of its powers under sections 6 and 124 and Parts I to IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended (hereinafter called “the Act”) and all other enabling legislation and powers and after consultation with the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis in accordance with Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Act made the above Orders.
The general effect of which will be to:
1. Extend the existing No Waiting at any time and No loading at any time restrictions on London Road, north side, 12 metres east of the junction with Abbey Road by 2.2 metres in a westerly direction and 18.2 metres in an easterly direction.
2. Extend the existing No Waiting at any time restriction on London Road, north side, 40.9 metres west of its junction with North Road by 6.9 metres in a westerly direction.
3. Relocate the existing Bus Stop on London Road, north side, west of the junction with North Road to London Road, north side, from a point 32.3 metres east of its junction with Abbey Road for a distance of 27 metres in an easterly direction.
4. Extend the existing Bus Stand on London Road, north side, west of the junction with North Road by 16.41 metres in a westerly direction and 1.48 metres in an easterly direction.
5. Extend the existing No Waiting at any time restriction on London Road, north side, from a point 6.5 metres east of the access to 62-128 London Road by 4.6 metres in an easterly direction.
6. Remove the existing Bus Stand on London Road, north side, east of the junction with Abbey Road.
7. Introduce a local buses, cycles and taxis only lane on the eastbound carriage of London Road, from a point 32.3 metres east of its junction with Abbey Road to a point 41.2 metres west of its junction with North Road.
A copy of the Orders, which will come into force on 5th June 2025 and the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the Orders are available to view for a period of 6 weeks from the date on which this notice is published on the Council’s website by following the webpage https://www.lbbd.gov.uk/parking/parking-area and selecting ‘New and proposed traffic and parking schemes’ or available for inspection at the Adult Library, First Floor, Barking Learning Centre, Barking between the hours of 9.00am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday.
Any person wishing to question the validity of the Orders or of any of their provisions on the grounds that they are not within powers of the Act, or that any requirement of the Act or any Regulations under it have not been complied with may do so within six weeks of the made date of the Order by applying to the High Court.
