ROADS (SCOTLAND) ACT 1984
THE SOUTH LANARKSHIRE COUNCIL (CARMUNNOCK ROAD, EAST KILBRIDE) (STOPPING UP) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Lanarkshire Council propose to make an Order under section 68(1) of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 stopping up the road described in Part 1 of the Schedule below.
The title of the Order is “The South Lanarkshire Council, (Carmunnock Road, East Kilbride) (Stopping Up) Order 2025.”
A copy of the proposed Order and of the accompanying plan showing the stopping up of the road together with a statement of the reasons for making the Order are available for inspection on the council’s website.
Any person wishing to object to these proposals should send details of the grounds for objections in writing to the Head of Roads, Transportation and Fleet Services, Council Offices, Floor 6, Almada Street, Hamilton ML3 0AA, or by email to parking.unit@southlanarkshire.gov.uk, by Friday 16 May 2025.
Schedule - road to be stopped up
That section of Carmunnock Road to the south of Cairnmuir Road (adjacent to Eastend Farm), East Kilbride. The sections of road from the south carriageway line of Carmunnock Road, where it meets Cairnmuir Road (point A), north-eastwards for 16 metres to point B, southwards for a distance of 7 metres to point C, then south-eastwards for a distance of 6 metres to point D, then westwards for 4 metres to point E, south-eastwards for 4 metres to point F, then south-westwards for 18 metres to point G, then south-eastwards for a distance of 8.5 metres to point H, then south-eastwards for a distance of 8.5 metres to point J, then north-westwards for a distance of 15 metres to point K, and then returning northwards, along the edge of the west carriageway, to point A, a distance of 37 metres, or thereby.
