The Department of Health has made a Statutory Rule entitled "The Human Medicines (Amendments Relating to Coronavirus and Influenza) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2024"(S.R. 2024 No. 68), which comes into operation on 31st March 2024.

This rule amends the Human Medicines Regulations 2012 ("the 2012 Regulations") to allow for the continued support of the COVID-19 and Influenza (Flu) Vaccination Programmes in Northern Ireland. This is achieved by amending three existing provisions within the 2012 Regulations so that they remain in place until 1 April 2026 in Northern Ireland thus enabling the continued deployment of safe and effective COVID-19 and influenza vaccines whilst also maintaining public safety.
