STOPPING UP OF FOOTWAY IN ELDER ROAD UNDER THE TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990
[NOTE: This Notice is about stopping up a part of the footway of Elder Road so that it ceases to be public highway and becomes part of the redeveloped land outside Nos. 54 & 56 Elder Road. Objections or other comments may be made – see paragraph 6].
1. NOTICE IS GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Lambeth propose to make the London Borough of Lambeth (Stopping-Up of Highways) (Elder Road) Order 202* under section 247 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990.
2. The proposed Order would authorise the stopping-up of an area of the footway on the west side of Elder Road (outside Nos. 54 and 56 (formerly the Park Tavern). The area to be stopped-up is shown on the plan attached to the proposed Order (drawing No. 23027-001A) the “relevant plan”.
3. If the proposed Order is made, the stopping-up of the highway would be authorised only to enable the development described in the Schedule to this Notice to be carried out, in accordance with the planning permission granted under reference 22/00442/FUL.

A copy of the proposed Order and the deposited plan giving detailed particulars about them are available for online at: https://streets.appyway.com/lambeth or www.lambeth.gov.uk/traffic-management-orders or at the offices of Lambeth Council’s Parking and Enforcement Group (Resident’s Services), 3rd Floor, Civic Centre, 6 Brixton Hill, London SW2 1EG, between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive (except on bank/public holidays), until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders are made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Orders. SCHEDULE PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT:
Change of use of Public House into 5 self-contained flats (use class C3), involving excavation to the existing basement plus the installation of 2 front light wells. To enable development in accordance with the proposals approved in December 2022 (22/00442/FUL) a small area of Elder Road in front of the property needs to be stopped up.
