Notices under the Trustee Act 1925
NOTICE UNDER S27 TRUSTEE ACT 1925 THE EGGBOROUGH POWER GROUP OF THE ELECTRICITY SUPPLY PENSION SCHEME (“THE SCHEME”)
The Scheme was established by resolution of the Electricity Council passed on 20 January 1983 and came into being on the 1 April 1983. The Scheme (‘ESPS’) is a trust-based scheme established by the Electricity Council by a resolution dated 20 January 1983 as an industry-wide pension scheme for employees in the nationalised electricity industry. It remained a single scheme on privatisation on 31 March 1990 but was then divided into various sections or ‘Groups’. Each principal electricity company participating in the ESPS forms its own Group. There are currently 26 Groups. Some Groups have only one participating employer, other Groups have multiple participating employers.
This notice relates to only one of these Groups, called the Eggborough Power Group (previously called the British Energy Combined Group and the British Energy Retail Markets Group).
Notice is hereby given under section 27 of the Trustee Act 1925 that the Group Trustees intend to wind up the Group following the transferring of benefits for all members of the Group to the Power Generation Pension Scheme. The Group Trustees believe they have identified everyone with a right to benefits under the Group. If you believe you may be entitled to benefits from the Group and have not been contacted by the Group Trustees, please write to the Group Trustees c/o RPMI at
