Notice is hereby given that on 10 December 2018 the Council of the London Borough of Camden made the above Orders under Sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. The general nature and effect of the orders are set out below:

Bloomsbury Square / Bloomsbury Place

The motorcycle parking place situated in Bloomsbury Place, to the east of its junction with the north-east arm of Bloomsbury Square will be replaced with a loading bay. A motorcycle bay of 16.3 metres length will be designated at the northern end of the south-west arm of Bloomsbury Square with residents parking currently designated at that location being re-provided within the same arm. The paid-for parking place on the north side of the north-west arm of Bloomsbury Square will become “shared-use” and will also become available to residents under these proposals. 24-hour waiting and loading controls will be implemented at the southern end of both the north-east and south-west arms of Bloomsbury Square to ensure clear space to allow vehicles to turn and exit via the junctions with Great Russell Street / Bloomsbury Square north-west arm / Bloomsbury Place. The proposals relating to residents and paid-for parking places were published on 6 September 2018 under the draft order titled “The Camden (Parking Places) (CA-D) (Amendment No. 24) Traffic Order 2018. This order has been retitled to “The Camden (Parking Places) (CA-C) (Amendment No. 13) Traffic Order 2018.

Princeton Street

No vehicles, except cycles, will be permitted to enter Red Lion Square from Princeton Street and vice-versa. Exemptions will apply to emergency services and vehicles being used for the provision of refuse collection. Additional 24-hour waiting and loading restrictions will be implemented at the western end of Princeton Street to a point approximately 10 metres east of the junction with Red Lion Square.

Copies of the orders, which will come into force on 17 December 2018, and the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the orders may be obtained from or inspected at 5 Pancras Square, London, N1C 4AG, London, or by contacting traffic.orders@camden.gov.uk. Any person desiring to question the validity of the order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks of the date on which the orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
