NOTICE is given that The Council of the Borough of Middlesbrough as Highway Authority intends to apply to Teesside Magistrates Court sitting at the Law Courts, Centre Square, Middlesbrough on 19th September 2017 at 10:00am for an Order under section 116 of the Highways Act 1980 authorising the stopping up of an area of the highway as described in the schedule hereto on the grounds that they are unnecessary. A copy of the draft Order and Plan may be inspected free of charge at the Reception of the Town Hall, Middlesbrough, TS1 9FX between the hours of 9am and 5pm Monday to Fridays (excluding bank holidays and public holidays) or on the Council’s website.

Any person to whom this Notice has been given or who uses the highway specified or who would be aggrieved by the making of the Order may appear before the Magistrates’ Court to raise an objection or make a representation on the application. Any person intending to appear before the Magistrates' Court at the hearing of the application is requested to inform Middlesbrough Council Legal Services at the address below before the 19th September 2017 quoting reference LG.P.004211.

SCHEDULE

The part of the highway (verge) to be stopped up is located to the Front of Wilson Street Carpark, Wilson Street, in the Central Ward of Middlesbrough as identified by zebra hatching on drawing number PPO/2017/WS/4.

1. Adopted Highway Verge

The area of adopted highway, approximately 219 square metres and designated as ‘Highway’. Starts at grid reference NZ 49809 / 20486 (point A on the order plan) and proceeds in a generally south easterly direction along the side of Wilson Street within Wilson Street Carpark for approximately 70 metres to a point on Wilson Street at Grid Ref NZ 49857 / 20434 (point B on the order plan).
