THE LEWISHAM (DEPTFORD HIGH STREET) (ONE WAY TRAFFIC) ORDER 2013
DEPTFORD HIGH STREET
- 1 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lewisham Borough Council on 17th December 2013 made the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Orders will come into force on 23rd December 2013.
- 2 The general nature and effect of the Orders will be to introduce:
- a “Restricted Parking Zone” in Deptford High Street, between its junctions with A2 Deptford Broadway and Giffin Street; and
- b a southbound one way traffic working in that length of Deptford High Street specified in paragraph (a) above.
- 3 Within the “Restricted Zone”:
- a waiting by vehicles, including waiting for the purpose of loading or unloading a vehicle, will be prohibited at any time, except for vehicles using the parking places or loading bays as specified in paragraph (b) below;
- b free limited stay parking places, disabled persons’ parking places and loading bays
will be provided to operate at all times with certain conditions as follows:
- i vehicles will only be allowed to park in the free limited stay parking places for a maximum of 30 minutes, with no return within 2 hours; and
- ii the disabled persons’ parking places will only be for use by vehicles displaying a disabled persons badge, or an invalid carriage; and
- iii vehicles will only be allowed to park in the loading bays for a maximum stay of 20 minutes.
- 4 Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders can be inspected between the hours of 10am. and 4pm. on Mondays to Fridays until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders are made, at the office of Lewisham Transport Policy & Development, Wearside Service Centre, Wearside Road, Ladywell, London, SE13 (telephone number: 0208 314 2570).
- 5 If any person wishes to question the validity of the Orders or of any of their provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders are made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
