THE LEWISHAM (DEPTFORD HIGH STREET RESTRICTED PARKING ZONE) (ON-STREET PARKING PLACES AND RESTRICTIONS ON WAITING) ORDER 2013 AND THE LEWISHAM (DEPTFORD HIGH STREET) (ONE WAY TRAFFIC) ORDER 2013

DEPTFORD HIGH STREET

  • 1 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Lewisham propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
  • 2 The general nature and effect of the Orders would be to introduce:
    • a a “Restricted Parking Zone” in Deptford High Street, between its junctions with A2 Deptford Broadway and Giffin Street; and
    • b a southbound one way traffic working in that length of Deptford High Street specified in paragraph (a) above.
  • 3 Within the “Restricted Zone”:
    • a waiting by vehicles, including waiting for the purpose of loading or unloading a vehicle, would be prohibited at any time, except for vehicles using the parking places or loading bays as specified in paragraph (b) below;
    • b free limited stay parking places, disabled persons’ parking places and loading bays would be provided to operate at all times with certain conditions as follows:
      • i vehicles would only be allowed to park in the free limited stay parking places for a maximum of 30 minutes, with no return within 2 hours;
      • ii the disabled persons’ parking places would only be for use by vehicles displaying a disabled persons badge, or an invalid carriage; and
      • iii vehicles would only be allowed to park in the loading bays for a maximum stay of 20 minutes.

  • 6 Any objection or other representations relating to the proposed Orders must be made in writing and all objections must specify the grounds on which they are made and must be sent to S. Plummer, 1 Laurence House, Catford Road, London, SE6 4RU, to arrive no later than 21 days from the date of publication of this Notice. Any objection may be communicated to other persons who may be affected.
