HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 SECTION 116

THE STOPPING UP OF highway land forming part of the property at 2a Hawth Place, Seaford in the County of East Sussex (registered at the Land Registry under title number ESX302636)

TAKE NOTICE that the East Sussex County Council intend to apply to the Brighton Magistrates’ Court under the Highways Act 1980, section 116 for the stopping up of highway described in the Schedule to this Notice on the ground that it is unnecessary.

The application will be made on the 24 June 2013 at 09.30 in the Brighton Magistrates’ Court.

The effect of the Order sought will be to prevent all traffic over the land for the purposes of identification only described in the Schedule below and shown hatched black on the plan which may, along with the draft Order, be inspected free of charge at County Hall, Lewes and the offices of Lewes District Council, 32 High Street, Lewes during normal office hours.

Any person who uses the highway and any other person who would be aggrieved by the making of the Order applied for, have a right to be heard at the Court hearing.

SCHEDULE

DESCRIPTION OF LAND TO BE STOPPED UP

A strip of land which forms part of the property at 2a Hawth Place, Seaford, East Sussex, BN25 2RH, formerly verge to the A259 Buckle Bypass, running from the rear boundary of 2a Hawth Place in a north-westerly direction for a distance of 40.5 metres to reach the footpath linking Hawth Place to the A259. The strip of land has a varying width ranging from 6.5 metres to 7.5 metres and is 271 square metres in area. It is shown edged and hatched black on the draft Order at National Grid Reference: TV47348, TV99991.
