PORTMAN SQUARE, ROSSMORE ROAD AND STRAND

THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER (OLYMPIC ROAD NETWORK) (PARKING PLACES) (NO. 1) ORDER 2012

  • 1 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Westminster City Council on 25th June 2012 made the above Order under sections 45, 46 and 49 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
  • 2 The general effect of the Order would be to introduce the following parking facilities for the duration of the 2012 Olympic Games:
    • a Portman Square, the north side of the southern arm:

• one residents’ parking place (47 metres in length); and

• one motorcycle parking place (23 metres in length).

  • b Rossmore Road

• one residents’ parking place (26 metres in length) on the south side by Palgrave Gardens; and

• one residents’ parking place (29 metres in length) on the south side, outside the Sylvia Young Theatre School.

  • c Strand, the north side of the island upon which St Mary le Strand Church lies:

• one residents’ parking place (11 metres in length); and

• one pay-by-phone parking place (23 metres in length).

  • 3 The Order, which will come into force on 20th July 2012 and will cease to have effect on 19th August 2012, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available for inspection until 9th August 2012 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at West One, 10th Floor, Westminster City Hall, 64 Victoria Street, London, SW1E 6QP.
  • 4 Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks from the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
