HIGHWAY STOPPING UP ORDER S 247

LAND ADJOINING ALKHAM AND HORTON TOWERS, ST MARY CRAY, ORPINGTON

The Mayor and Burgesses of the London Borough of Bromley (“the Council”), hereby give notice that they have made an Order under Legislation section: Section 247 of the above Act to authorise the stopping-up of areas of Highway at land adjoining Alkham and Horton Towers, St Mary Cray, Orpington .

The Order has been made to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted to Broomleigh Housing Association c/o Robinson Escott Planning, 303 Downe House, High Street, Orpington, Kent, BR6 0NN on 2 November 2011 under reference DC/10/03698

A Copy of the Order may be inspected and obtained free of charge at all reasonable hours at the offices of the London Borough of Bromley, Main Enquiry Desk, Civic Centre, Stockwell Close, Bromley, BR1 3UH .

Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof or of any provision contained therein on the ground that it is not within the power of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any Regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of 27 June 2012 apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision contained therein.

THE SCHEDULE

Demolition of 2 fifteen storey blocks and erection of 3 three/four storey and 2 six/seven storey blocks comprising 19 one bedroom, 57 two bedroom and 14 three bedroom dwellings with 94 basement and open car parking spaces, bicycle parking, refuse/cycling storage, children’s play area and landscaping.

The term “stopping-up” means that the area of the highway being land adjacent to Alkham and Horton Towers, St Mary Cray, would permanently cease to be public highway.
