DORCHESTER WAY AND SALMON STREET

THE BRENT (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (AMENDMENT NO. 331) ORDER 2009

  • 1 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Brent on 21 December 2009 made the above-mentioned Order under sections 6, 84 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by section 8 of and Part 1 of Schedule 5 to the Local Government Act 1985.
  • 2 The general effect of the ‘Waiting and Loading Restrictions’ Order will be further to amend the Brent (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1979, so that:-
    • a waiting by vehicles (otherwise than for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle) will be prohibited at any time in the lengths of streets specified in the Schedule to this Notice;
    • b waiting by vehicles for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle for a period of more than 20 minutes in the same place will be prohibited between 11.00 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. throughout the week in the lengths of streets specified in the Schedule to this Notice;
    • c the sale or offer for sale of goods from a vehicle will be prohibited (except on Sundays in the lengths of streets specified in the Schedule) unless there is in force a valid licence issued by the Brent Borough Council or the goods are immediately taken into or delivered at premises adjacent to the vehicle from which the sale is effected;
    • d the use of any vehicle or of any animal or the wearing of fancy dress or other costume, wholly or mainly for the purpose of advertising will be prohibited;
    • e any existing prohibition on the waiting by vehicles, the sale or offer for sale of goods from a vehicle or the use of any vehicle or animal or the wearing of fancy dress or other costume wholly or mainly for the purpose of advertising in the lengths of streets specified in the Schedule to this Notice will be revoked.
  • 3 The prohibitions referred to in paragraph 2(a) and 2(b) above will not apply in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or in certain circumstances, e.g., the picking up or setting down of passengers; the carrying out of statutory powers or duties; the taking in of petrol, etc., from roadside petrol stations; to licensed street traders, etc. The usual exemption relating to vehicles displaying a disabled person’s “Blue Badge” will apply.
  • 4 A copy of the Order, which will come into operation on 4 January 2010, of maps of the of the relevant areas and of the above-mentioned Order of 1979 (and of the Orders which have previously amended that Order) can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Order was made at:-
    • a The One Stop Shop, Brent Town Hall, Forty Lane, Wembley, Middx, HA9 9HX; and
    • b The One Stop Shop, Brent House, 349-357 High Road, Wembley, Middx, HA9 6BZ.
  • 5 Copies of the Order may be purchased from the address mentioned in paragraph 4(b) above.
  • 6 Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

BUSH HILL ROAD

  • a the north-east side, from Dorchester Way north-westward for 11.00 metres;
  • b the south-west side, from Dorchester Way north-westward for 13.00 metres.

DORCHESTER WAY

  • a the north-west side,
    • i from a point 13.40 metres south of Bush Hill Road to a point 9.00 metres north-east of Bush Hill Road;
    • ii from a point 10.00 metres south-west of Melcombe Gardens to a point 11.50 metres north-east of Melcombe Gardens;
  • b the south-east side, from Nos. 126 and 128 Dorchester Way to Melbury Road;

  • a the north-east side, from a point 3.00 metres south-east of the south-eastern wall of No. 128 Melbury Road south-eastward for 10.10 metres;
  • b the south-west side;
    • i from Dorchester Way south-eastward for 5.00 metres;
    • ii from a point 4.00 metres south-east of the south-eastern wall of No. 128 Melbury Road south-eastward for 6.00 metres.

MELCOMBE GARDENS
