HIGHWAYS ACT 1980, SECTION 116

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the City of Stoke-on-Trent as highway authority intends to apply to the North Staffordshire Magistrates’ Court sitting at The Courthouse, Ryecroft, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, ST5 2DG at 9.45 a.m. on the 22 nd day of January 2010 for an order that the length of highway known as the alley to the rear of 156–168 Elder Road, Cobridge, Stoke-on-Trent, for a distance of approximately 11 metres from its junction with Mawdesley Street, be authorised to be stopped up on the ground that it is unnecessary.

The effect of the said order and the length of highway is shown on a plan which may be inspected free of charge at the offices of the Head of Legal Services, Stoke-on-Trent City Council, Gordon House, Kingsway, Stoke-on-Trent during normal office hours.

On the hearing of the application any person to whom the notice has been given, any person who uses the said highway and any other person who would be aggrieved by the making of the order applied for will have the right to be heard.
