TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING GENERAL PERMITTED DEVELOPMENT ORDER 1995

NOTICE UNDER ARTICLE 4

WILLOW PARK CONSERVATION AREA NEWTON-LE-WILLOWS

Notice is hereby given that St.Helens Borough Council has confirmed a Direction made on the 24th August 2009 restricting certain permitted development rights from certain dwellings in the Willow Park Conservation Area of Newton-le-Willows in accordance with Article 4(2) of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 1995. The effect of the Direction is that development of the types specified in the First Schedule to the Direction may no longer be carried out without a grant of planning permission. The Council is of the opinion that the control of certain works is expedient in furtherance of the requirements of Section 72 of the Planning (Listed Building and Conservation Areas) Act 1999 in that such works could threaten the preservation or enhancement of the character or appearance of the said conservation areas.

A copy of the Direction, together with a map of the conservation area defining the dwellings so included can be inspected in normal office hours at the Newton-le-Willows Community Library, Crow Lane East, Newton-le-Willows WA12 9TU and at the Town Hall Receptions Victoria Square Corporation Street St Helens WA10 1HP
