ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

THE LEWISHAM (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (AMENDMENT NO. 133) TRAFFIC ORDER 2009

  • 1 Notice is hereby given that Lewisham Council made this Order under the provisions of section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on 21 December 2009. The Order comes into force on 18 January 2010.
  • 2 The general nature and effect of the Order is, by amendment to the parent Order, the Lewisham (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1990, to vary waiting restrictions at Belmont Hill and Lee Terrace and short lengths of their side roads as follows:

Belmont Hill and Lee Terrace and up to 15 metres into side roads having junctions with them:

No waiting at any time, no loading or unloading Mondays to Saturdays, 7.00 am to 10.00 am and 4.00 pm to 7.00 pm; except at Lee Terrace within approximately 25 metres of junction Blackheath Village and Lee Park:

No waiting at any time, no loading or unloading at any time.

This proposal affects only the waiting and loading restrictions; the current disposition of controlled parking zone parking places are not affected.

  • 3 Exemptions from the restrictions include Council and utility company vehicles engaged on certain duties, vehicles stopping to avoid an accident, ambulance, fire brigade and police vehicles and anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform.
  • 4 Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order and measures can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays at the office of Lewisham Transport Policy & Development, Wearside Service Centre, Wearside Road, Ladywell, London SE13, telephone 020 8314 2265.
  • 5 Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument or relevant regulation made under the Act has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
