NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Council of the London Borough of Camden propose to make these Orders under Sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Traffic Management Act 2004.

The general nature and effect of the Orders will be to:

  • a To change the times of operation to Between 8.30am and 11pm on Mondays to Fridays and Between 9.30am and 11pm on Saturdays and Sundays inclusive for all the Residents and pay & display parking places in:-

Chalk Farm Road;

Prince of Wales Road (part between Haverstock Hill and Dalby Street);

Haverstock Hill (part between Princes of Wales Road and Adelaide Road);

Crogsland Road;

Belmont Street;

Clarence way (part between Castlehaven Road and Harmood Street);

Malden Crescent;

Ferdinand Place and Street;

Hadley Street (part between Castle Road and south of Lewis Street);

Harmood Grove; Place and Street;

Hartland Mews and Road;

Hawley Road (part between Castlehaven Road and Hartland Road);

Hawley Street;

Lewis Street (part between Castlehaven Road and Hadley Street);

Leybourne Street;

Powlett Place.

  • b Amend all waiting restrictions in the roads mentioned in this notice to operate Between 8.30am and 11pm on Mondays to Fridays and Between 9.30am and 11pm on Saturdays and Sundays inclusive.
  • c to add some double yellow lines and some double kerb-blips ‘at any time’ waiting and loading restrictions.
  • d to add four new resident spaces in Hawley Road.
  • e to add one existing pay & display parking place in Ferdinand Place and extend existing in Chalk Farm Road and Ferdinand Street.
  • f extend by 2.0 metres the existing motorcycle bay in Belmont Street and add new motorcycle bay in Ferdinand Place.
  • g to add two new residents parking places in Harmood Street and extend an existing parking place, allowing for approximately 12 additional car spaces.
  • h to add three new residents parking places in Crogsland Road and extend an existing parking place, allowing for approximately 10 additional car spaces.
  • i to add a new residents parking place in Belmont Street allowing for approximately 4 additional car spaces.
  • j to extend existing residents parking places in Malden Crescent and Prince of Wales Road, allowing for approximately 4 additional car spaces.
  • k to convert an existing pay & display bay outside nos.1 to 9 Hartland Road into residents parking spaces.
  • l to add new pay & display parking places in Leybourne Road and Castlehaven Road, which form part of the existing Zone which will operate during the existing zone times.
  • m to remove three pay & display parking places in Castlehaven Road in order to provide a new pedestrian crossing point and open up the carriageway on the southern end of Leybourne Street for pedal cycles to enter and exit only, whilst prohibiting all other vehicles from entering or exiting at that point.
  • n to extend the disabled ‘blue badge’ bays in Harmood Street, amend a bay in Prince of Wales Road and revoke one in Belmont Street.

A copy of the proposed Orders and the Council’s Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Orders may be inspected/obtained at the Culture and Environment Reception Desk, fifth floor, Camden Town Hall, Argyle Street, WC1H 8EQ.

Any person wishing to object or make representations to the proposed Orders, should send your comments in writing, giving your reasons for any objection to the Director of Culture and Environment Directorate, Camden Town Hall, Argyle Street, London WC1H 8EQ, to reach this Department by 10 DECEMBER 2009 within 21 days from the date on which this notice is published.
