HIGHWAYS ACT 1980

THE NORTHAMPTONSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (A43 CORBY LINK ROAD CLASSIFIED ROAD) (SIDE ROADS) ORDER 2007

THE SECRETARY OF STATE for Transport hereby gives notice that he has confirmed, with modifications, the above Order which was made by Northamptonshire County Council under sections 14 and 125 of the Highways Act 1980 and which, as confirmed, authorises the Council to—

  • a carry out the improvement of highways,
  • b stop up highways,
  • c construct new highways,
  • d stop up private means of access to premises, and
  • e provide new means of access to premises

all in relation to the classified road being the highway which the Council propose to construct from its southern limit at a point on the A6003 Rockingham Road at its new roundabout junction with the re-aligned C97 Newton Road, south of Storefield Cottages to its northern limit, the junction of the A43 Stamford Road, the A6116 Brigstock Road and Long Croft Road.

Copies of the above mentioned Order and of the plans referred to therein have been deposited and may be inspected at all reasonable hours free of charge at the offices of the Head of Legal Services, Northamptonshire County Council, County Hall, Northampton NN1 1AW, at Corby Library, 9 The Links, Queens Square, Corby, Northamptonshire, NN1 1PZ, and at Danesholme Library, 14 Neighbourhood Centre, Corby, Northamptonshire NN18 9EJ and at Kettering Library, Sheep Street, Kettering, Northamptonshire NN16 0AY.

ANY PERSON aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980 or on the ground that any requirement of that Act or of any regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of the 30 April 2009, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision contained therein.
